The air sample drawn from the coal pulverizer 12 is then analyzed for percent by volume of oxygen (O2) content and CO gas concentration in ppm (parts per million) via a known oxygen and CO gas analyzer 16 designed to operate in a harsh power plant environment and having autocalibration capabilities. A suitable analyzer for this application is one manufactured by the Bailey Controls Company of Babcock and Wilcox and is known as the Type OL Oxygen and CO Analyzer.
