Talc Mine Flotation Technologies

In China, iron ore with hematite grain size of less than 0.045mm or magnetite grain size of less than 0.03mm is commonly referred to as fine-grained iron ore [18]. Yuanjiacun Iron deposit and Qidong Iron deposit in Shanxi and Hunan Province, respectively, are the most typical fine grain iron deposits in China. The Taiyuan Iron and Steel Group and scientific research units, who aimed at the Yuanjiacun iron ore recycle and conduct a large number of experimental studies. The original iron ore grade of 31.18%, −0.045mm particle size accounted for 93.81% of the total ore, they got concentrate iron grade 66.95%, and recovery rate of 72.62%. With this process, the Yuanjiacun iron deposit built a mineral processing plant with annual capacity of 22 million tons by the end of 2012 [19]. Changsha Institute of Mining and Metallurgy proposed a selective flocculation desliming-anti-flotation technology and developed a SA-2 flocculant (for the purpose of fine grain size, complex nature of igneous iron ore in Qidong iron deposit) [20]. At present, the Qidong iron deposit uses this technology to build a beneficiation plant with an annual treatment capacity of 2.8 million tons. Under the conditions of a raw ore grade of 28.36% and a grinding fineness of −0.038mm (98%), the concentrate iron grade 62.5%, the recovery of 68% have been achieved [18, 19, 20]. There are many examples like this. Stage grinding—stage magnetic separation likely is the best process for processing fine-grained magnetite [21, 22]; for fine-grained magnetite-hematite mixed iron ore, weak magnetic—strong magnetic—resurfacing—reverse flotation process can obtain the high recovery rate; that sorting fine particles hematite process mainly has strong magnetic—desliming—reverse flotation [23, 24], selective flocculation—reverse flotation [25] and strong magnetic—centrifugal beneficiation [26].

Vanadium is another element that might be recovered from coal by using reverse flotation. Coal vanadium element can be found in some coal minerals such as illite, muscovite, roscoelite, and kaolin in the form of isomorphism, whereas tantalite and garnet are appeared in the form of absorption [69]. In addition, quartz, calcite, and carbonaceous are found to be main gangues in stone coal [68]. For many studies, flotation has been popular topic for many years, but there are not much more available studies on pre-concentration of vanadium in low-grade coal by the method [70].

Fluoride flotation after vulcanization. In this method, the oxidized mineral is first vulcanized with sodium sulfide or other vulcanizing agent (such as sodium hydrosulfide), and then the higher xanthate is used as a collector for flotation. When vulcanizing, the lower the pH of the slurry, the faster the vulcanization proceeds. The vulcanizing agent such as sodium sulfide is easily oxidized and has a short action time. Therefore, when the copper oxide is floated by a vulcanization method, the vulcanizing agent is preferably added in stages. Ammonium sulfate and aluminum sulfate contribute to the vulcanization of oxidized minerals. Therefore, the addition of these two agents during the flotation flotation can significantly improve the flotation effect, the copper oxide minerals which can be treated by the vulcanization method, mainly copper carbonates, such as Malachite, azurite, etc. can also be used for flotation of copper ore. However, if the malachite is not specially treated in advance, its vulcanization effect is very poor, and it cannot even be vulcanized.

This equipment is used to remove iron from kaolin. After being washed and cleaned, the kaolin slurry enters LHGC2000 high gradient magnetic separator to remove the residual iron and obtain high-purity and low-iron kaolin products. The iron removal rate is above 90%.

The principle of gold flotation is: flotation of large-density and coarse-grained minerals often use thicker slurry; on the contrary, when flotation of small density, fine-grained and sludge, use a thinner slurry, which can ensure a higher recovery rate and improve the quality of the concentrate.
